Tom's 50th birthday trip to Europe

I am going to attempt to blog our trip to keep in touch as we will not be connected for the next 10 days!!  Be aware I have never done this before....so we shall see!!  Still packing right now!!

Ok, so that didn't work - the internet on the ship was painfully slow and we could never find a consistent hotspot - so most of the prepaid internet was used by Caroline to catch up on facebook!

So, I will attempt it from home....

On our Way!!

We flew from JFK through Dublin to get to Rome.  We drove to JFK mid-afternoon and parked at the Parking Spot (formerly Avistar) at the suggestion of one of Tom's friends.  It was a great trip and very easy - valet parking with a waiting van.  JFK is usually a very crowded airport - but not on this day....
We were the only ones there!
AerLingus is Awesome!

I felt like I was flying in the US in the 90's: legroom, movies with free headphones, free food and snacks, nice people, and get this...FREE BAGS!!  Really, one per person (we are so used to flying on the cheap - I admit there have been times we have held up the baggage desk trying to spread our clothes around.  We always have at least one 51 lb bag!) - it was nice! Our fares were decent too - I will try them first next time.
Matt ready for the entertainment to start!

So, we get to Dublin at 7AM (but to us it is something like 2AM).  We got through customs and on the way to the gate, Caroline spots a BK.  She wants breakfast - yuk!

They serve the same kind of junk as in the US!

The terminal was beautiful!
